In the past years and centuries BAUER KOMPRESSOREN expanded extremely and established numerous international daughter companies, not least a very successful subsidiary in Singapore, in order to respond to the booming Asian market. Already in 1979 the growth of the BAUER group resulted in the move of the BAUER KOMPRESSOREN GmbH from the initial location to a brand new plant in the South of Munich. In the new plant in Drygalski-Allee all components were manufactured and assembled to high-pressure compressor systems. This was followed by two centuries of rapid growth, in which several daughter companies and subsidiaries were founded.

Soon it became clear: The location of Munich would soon be bursting at the seams, too small to satisfy the growing demand of production capacities. A new plant is necessary, a plant, which stands for the most modern production standards and is able to provide capacity reserves for the years to come! After years of planning one was looking for a suitable land, which was finally found in Geretsried, 25 km south of Munich. Convenient infra structure and closeness to the headquarters of BAUER KOMPRESSOREN MÜNCHEN, daughter company ROTORCOMP and the location of the BAUER Holding were finally decisive for the 20000 m² grounds.

Acc. to the planning UNICCOMP takes over the block- and components manufacture for BAUER KOMPRESSOREN MUNICH and ROTORCOMP. Due to the central components manufacture synergy effects within the international group can be exploited. The free production areas at the headquarters in Munich are now at the disposal of the unit assembly, allowing higher production capacities and shorter delivery times as a consequence. Together with the architect´s office Adamek & Hölzl in Geretsried a modern glas-steel construction with high light transmission was drawn up, which guarantees modern courses of manufacture, best working conditions for the employees and sets optical trends outwardly.

In March 2001 the first cut of the spade was done. Only one year later, the building activities went acc. to plan, the components plant was ready in March 2002. Now another step was to be taken: The production machinery had to be moved to the new location, without negative impact on the unit assembly. A masterly performance of the internal planning team of several engineers and a professional moving company!

On a production area of around 6000 m² 125 employess will produce - for example high-pressure compressor components and filters - for the BAUER plant in Munich and the international daughter companies, as well as modules and blocks for screw compressors. The production capacity of the plant and the reserve space for another 3000 m² hall offer much capacity for production expansion and allow even manufacture of parts and components for third parties.
